JAMMU, APRIL 3: Advisor to Governor, KK Sharma today reviewed the preparedness of PHE department for meeting the water supply demand in summer season, here at a meeting.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, BVR Subramanuim, Commissioner/ Secretary AK Sahu, Chief engineers PHE, Irrigation, PDD Directors Finance and planning, Chief Engineers and other senior officers of the department.

The advisor directed the department to put in place a mechanism by which adequate supply of potable water is provided to the consumers in the areas, which record increase in demand in the   summers.

He called for holding regular review meetings to remove the bottlenecks, if any, and setting up of control rooms in the offices of Chief Engineer and Executive Engineers to receive and attend to the public grievances. He stressed on rationalization of water supply for equitable distribution and coordination of PDD with PHE for providing power and necessary logistic support for running key water installations.

The advisor also directed for taking necessary measures for sensitizing the people about the importance of conservation and judicious use of water.
