Micro-Observers imparted training at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, APRIL 03: With a view to ensure free, fair and smooth conduct of upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a training session for Micro-Observers was held here today.

The training was held under the supervision of General Election Observers Dr P Shakeel Ahmad and Amrish Kumar, and Returning Officer for Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency Dr G N Itoo.

The participants were updated about Model Code of Conduct, constitution of polling parties, handling of law and order and various guidelines issued by Election Commission of India (ECI).

The observers exhorted upon the participants to adhere to the guidelines of ECI in letter and spirit for successful conduct of Election. They asked   them to remain keen and pro-active during the election process besides stressing on keeping close vigil on the poll activities.

Meanwhile, the participants were also imparted hands on training   on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines.
