Srinagar:A political activist suffered critical bullet injuries after being fired upon by unknown gunmen at Shalipora village in Kulgam district on Wednesday evening.
According to reports, gunmen barged inside the house of Abdul Majeed Dar son-in-law of Ghulam Ahmad Malla and fired upon him.
In the incident, Majeed was injured critically.
According to officials, Majeed is a panch and had recently left PDP as a party activist.
A police officer confirmed the incident and said that Majeed was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors referred him to SMHS hospital Srinagar in critical condition.
The officer said that Majeed has received a bullet wound in his abdomen.
