Centre sets up ‘Terror Monitoring Group’ in J&K

ADGP, CID, to be its Chairman

Srinagar: Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has formed a multi-disciplinary Terror Monitoring Group (TMG) with ADGP, CID, JK Police as its Chairman, to ensure ‘synergized and concerted action against terror financing and other terror related activities’ in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, an official order said.

As per the order TMG, which will be meeting every week and submit their action taken report regularly, shall take coordinated action in all registered cases that relate to terror, terror financing and terror related activities and bring them to logical conclusion.

The order further added that TMG shall identify all key persons, including leaders of the organizations who are involved in supporting terrorism, in any form, and take concerted action against them besides investigating the networks of various channels being used to fund terror and terror related activities and take coordinated action to stop the flow of such funds.

TMG shall also take action against hardcore sympathizers amongst government employees including teachers etc. who are providing covert or overt support to such activities, the order further said.

The other members of TMG include IGP, JKP, Additional Director, IB, J&K, representative of CBI, representative of NIA,  representative of CBDT, representative of CBIC and any other member co-opted by the chairman.
