JAMMU, MARCH 27: Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai today convened a meeting with the officers of Auqaf Islamia to review its functioning and discussed various issues of the department.
Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Shahid Anayatullah, Deputy Secretary Revenue, Special Officer Auqaf, Administrator Auqaf Islamia Jammu besides other senior officers of concerned department attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Advisor was briefed by the Commissioner Secretary on various issues including the functioning of student hostel near the shrine of Hazrat Zaahir Ali Shah (RA) at Canal Road, Jammu for the stay of beneficiary students.
The Advisor called upon the concerned authorities to work with missionary zeal to safeguard and for better upkeep of the Auqaf properties so that these assets are utilized optimally.
The Advisor asked the concerned officers to convene State Wakaf council meeting at an earliest.
