DDC Anantnag visits Jablipora Fruit Mandi

ANANTNAG, MARCH 26: The District Development Commissioner Anantnag Khalid Jahangir today visited Jablipora fruit Mandi to review the facilities there.

The DDC directed the concerned to complete construction of fads and roads within one month and also ensure toilet units be made functional within a month. With regard to the electricity and drinking water facility, the DDC directed that the facilities must be provided within two months and Mandi must be functional prior to next fruit season. The Horticulture Area Marketing Officer was directed to expedite the process and construction be made according to pre decided plan.

Earlier DDC visited Ashajipora Mandi and stressed on exploring the possibilities for shifting of owners to Jablipora Mandi to decongest the town and boost local economy as Jablipora Mandi is being developed on modern lines.

DDC also visited Aripath Nalla and directed Irrigation and Flood Control Departments to renovate 100 metres patch of banks and its beautification which later could be developed as green patch for morning walkers and natural lovers. Similarly other spots could be later developed on these lines, he advised.

The DDC directed Irrigation and Flood Control Dept for dredging of river Jhelum.
