JAMMU, MARCH 25: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today conducted an extensive tour of district Rajouri to review the progress on construction of bunkers along international border and assured minimum facilities (AMF) at polling stations.

During his visit, Verma, who has been appointed as Accessibility Observer for upcoming elections reviewed the assured minimum facilities at polling stations in district Rajouri.

He visited various polling stations and reviewed the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of general elections 2019. He stressed on the maximum participation of persons with disabilities in general elections. He asked the concerned to make all necessary facilities at polling stations for persons with disabilities. He asked for deployment of volunteers to facilitate the PWD voters in polling stations for smooth conduct of elections.

During the tour, he visited various border villages including Ganiah, Bhawani, Kalsian, Bajnowa and reviewed the progress on construction of bunkers. He asked the executing agencies for quality work and expedite the pace of work and meet the timelines.

He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar, ADC Nowshera, and senior functionaries of PWD, RDD and other concerned departments.

Earlier, the Div Com also chaired a meeting with district officers and reviewed the plantation drive initiated by horticulture department. He passed directions for identification of state land for plantation in the district.

It was informed that 197 farms have been identified for cultivations of jute by horticulture department.
