Anantnag: One person was arrested today during a checkpoint at Batengoo following an action targeting those involved in drug peddling in South Kashmir.
One person identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Majeed resident of Batengoo arrested for the drug offences has been taken to Police Station Anantnag where he remains in custody, a police spokesman said.
Officers at the checkpoint have seized 570 bottles of codeine phosphate from his possession.
Case FIR No 28/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Anantnag.
