Special Secretary Transport reviews functioning of JKSRTC

JAMMU, MARCH 20: Special Secretary, Transport Department Amit Sharma today reviewed the functioning of J&K State Road Transport Corporation, here at a meeting.

MD J&K SRTC Bilal Ahmed Bhat, FA Vivek Atri, GM Operations Jammu, GM Operations Kashmir, GM Estates, DGMs, Under Secretary Transport Chandeep Singh, SO Transport Sanjay Bhat and others were present.

During the meeting, Indian Oil Corporation team headed by Rajiv Yadav also attended the meeting. IOCL agreed to provide six electric charging stations to J&K SRTC, three each for Jammu and Srinagar for charging of upcoming fleet of 40 electric buses which shall be run in different routes of Jammu as well as Srinagar capital cities.

Special Secretary Transport also visited SRTC transport yards wherein few workshops of the Corporation were checked including oil and lubricants, buses and vehicles parked in yards apart from holding spot interaction with SRTC staff present there. The staff was directed to maintain cleanliness and hygiene inside the yards and provision of congenial atmosphere and facilities to the drivers and cleaners of the commercial vehicles.

Amit Sharma laid emphasis on implementation of SRO 157 restraining FCS&CA department from hiring vehicles from open market, filling-up of vacant slots especially drivers and cleaners, submission of plans for revival of non-utilised  SRTC Yards at Bikram Chowk Jammu and TRC Srinagar, total automation and implementation of e-Governance based plans in the Corporation to bring total transparency and professionalism in the Corporation.

Special Secretary assured for all possible assistance and assured that pending issues of SRTC shall be taken-up on top priority.
