SRINAGAR, MARCH 20: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting to review the ongoing arrangements for Navroz festival.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the Fisheries Department to ensure availability of sufficient stocks of Fish at Gagribal, Alamgaribazar, Chandpora Harwan, Gundhasi Bhat, Abi Guzar and other areas dominated by Shia community.

Khan directed PDD and PHE Departments to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply especially in Shia populated areas during the festival. PDD officials were also directed to repair defunct street lights in these areas.

He asked officers of FCS&CA to ensure availability of rice, additional quota of Kerosene Oil and LPG Gas in these areas.

The Health Department was asked to ensure availability of Medicare facilities and keep open all the Health Centers in these areas during Navroz festival.

Khan also directed SMC officials to ensure proper sanitation and cleaning of all chocked drainage in the areas.

Div com also directed to RTO to ensure availability of Transport regulation of traffic in Shia populated areas during Navroz so that the locals do not face any kind difficulty.

Additional Commissioner Kashmir Tasaduq Hussain Mir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Qazi Irfan and other officers were present in the meeting whereas all Deputy Commissioners of the valley participated the meeting through video conferencing.
