Srinagar: Two persons were arrested by the police at a for drug trafficking in Bandipora.

A police spokesman in a statement said that both the accused have been taken to the local police station for further investigation and remain in custody. A case under relevant sections stands registered in the matter.

”Officers in presence of SDPO Sumbal at the checkpoint have seized 900 grams of brown sugar from two accused individuals identified as Nazir Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Jamal Dar and Mohammad Afzal Dar son of Habib-ul-lah Dar, both residents of Shahgund Hajin,” he said.

Meanwhile, three persons were arrested today in Central Kashmir’s Budgam District following an action against those involved in drug peddling.

Three persons identified as Zubair Ahmad Dar son of Noor Mohd Dar resident of Dalipora Nagam, Abdul Hamid Rather son of Abdul Gani Rather resident of Hussipora and Mudasir Qadir son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Zuhama involved in drug offences were arrested during a checkpoint at Nagam Chrar-i-Sharief Road, a police spokesman said.

Officers at the checkpoint have seized 720 capsules of Spasmoproxyvan and five bottles of Codeine Phosphate from their possession. A sumo bearing registration number JKO1N- 6080 they were travelling in has also been seized, said the spokesman, adding, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in the matter.
