Scholarships sanctioned for 104 meritorious wards of Police personnel and SPOs

JAMMU, MARCH 16: With an aim to promote the merit among the wards of police personnel Director General of Police Dilbag Singh today sanctioned rupees 4.94 lakh scholarship for 96 wards of police personnel.

In a statement issued here, a spokesman of J&K Police said: “JKP has introduced scholarship schemes for the police wards, who excel in the field of education. The welfare scheme in vogue provides scholarship to students who secure eighty percent and above marks in class 10th or 12th for each academic session at different rates.”

“Ninety six wards of police personnel have secured eighty per cent and above marks in class 10th during the academic session 2017-18. Rupees six thousand each have been sanctioned for 55 wards who have secured above ninety per cent marks in the examination. Similarly rupees four thousand each have been sanctioned for 41 wards for securing between eighty and ninety per cent marks in the said examination,” reads the statement.

“The scholarship scheme has been extended to benefit the meritorious wards of SPOs. Eight wards of the SPOs have also been provided scholarship for securing the required percentage of marks in class 10th and 12th during the academic session 2017-18. Rupees four thousand each have been sanctioned for six wards of class 10th and rupees 7200 and 6000 one each of class 12th,” it added.
