Pulwama, March 15: Local administration on Friday demolished three illegal structures in south Kashmir’s Saffron town Pampore.

Officials told Kashmir Images that a team comprising of Revenue department, Municipal Committee Pampore and police demolished three illegal structures constructed on government land at Kadlabal near Hindustan Petroleum HP gas bottling plant in Pampore town.

A massive demolition drive was held near HP gas bottling plant by a team headed by Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi -ud-Din with assistance of Executive Officer Muncipal Committee Pampore Mohammad Ismail and Station House Officer (SHO) Pampore Manzoor Ahmad.

“The administration will continue such steps in future to demolish the illegal structures in Pampore town and other areas as no one shall be allowed to encroach upon state land,” said Tehsildar Pampore.

The concerned Tehsildar also said that the present District Administration Pulwama headed by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama has zero tolerance policy for illegal encroachments, and such drives shall continue wherever illegal structures are constructed.

Last week, one illegal structure was demolished by Municipal Committee Pampore at the same spot, “he added.

Tehsildar Pampore and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore have appealed the people of Saffron town Pampore to avoid carrying out any construction without the prior permission from the Revenue department and Municipal Committee.
