Schools, colleges open in Kashmir
Srinagar: The schools and colleges re-opened in Kashmir valley on Monday after three-month-long winter break.
The schools were scheduled to re-open on March 4, but the vacations were extended by the divisional administration citing inclement weather.
The winter vacation for students up to class 8 started from December 6, 2018 while the vacation for students of class 9 onwards started from December 17, 2018.
However, the colleges observed winter vacations from December 24 last year.
The schools in Kashmir close usually for two and half months for winter vacation, while summer vacations are limited to a week or 10 days.
