General Elections 2019: Div Com reviews progress in Jammu Division

JAMMU, MARCH 11: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the provision of Assured minimum Facilities (AMFs) at Polling stations in Jammu Division for smooth conduct of General Elections 2019.

Chairing a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division, the Div Com discussed in detail the measures being taken by the district administration for making the provisions for Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) at the Polling Stations.

The DCs informed that the process for creating the facilities at all designated polling stations is in progress as per the set guidelines.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri informed that provision of water is being made at 73 polling stations while work on 54 toilets is in progress.

The DC Doda informed that out of 133 Polling Stations, water facility has been made available at 33 polling stations and work is in progress at remaining 100 places. Similarly, against 216 polling stations without electricity, provision has been made at 78 and work at 138 is in progress.

The DC Kishtwar informed that water facility has already been provided at 26 polling stations and work on remaining is in full swing. He also informed that work for making provision for power supply to the polling stations is also in progress.

Meanwhile, the DC Udhampur informed that water facility has been provided at 11 polling stations and work on one is in progress, while provision of power supply    to 25 polling stations has been made and work at 39 is in progress.

The Div Com asked the DCs to direct the concerned executing agencies to complete the works well in time to ensure smooth conduct of general elections. He also   directed for early clearance of approach roads in snow bound districts. He directed for submission of the progress report on regular basis.
