Abdul Gani Vakil visits Rafiabad

Srinagar March 9, 2019: Peoples Conference Senior Vice President and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil visited many villages of Rafiabad including Alsafa Colony, Varipura, Chitlura, Zekan, Naupura and Dengivicha.

A party spokesman in a statement said that addressing the meetings, he urged the central government to take confidence building measures before polls in the state.

“To ensure significant participation in the poll, they should stop mass arrests and must release those arrested recently. These things are mandatory for survival of democracy”, the spokesman quoted Vakil saying.

The spokesman said that Vakil expressed concern over targeting and harassment of Kashmiri students and businessmen outside the state, saying, “Such things are not in favour of anybody and will only lead to put people especially the youth away from mainstream. I urge the central government to take measures in order to prevent harassment of Kashmiris.”

People of Alsafa colony applauded the efforts of Sajad Gani Lone and Abdul Gani Vakil for their efforts in impressing upon Governor administration to declare Alsafa colony as backward. In this visit, Vakil was accompanied by PC senior leader Khurshid Ahmad Khan, Abdur Rehman Malik and Zahoor Ahmad Lone.
