Help in keeping city clean, appeals Mayor JMC

JAMMU, MARCH 06: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta today urged city dwellers to extend their cooperation in making the historic city clean and sanitized.

The Mayor was addressing a presser here along with Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor JMC, Suraj Prakash Padha, Chairman Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Committee, JMC and Commissioner JMC.

Gupta appealed the residents of Jammu to keep city clean by throwing their domestic waste in nearby JMC containers, avoid use of polythene bags and carry fabric bags for shopping besides use waste specific bins.

He also appealed all religious committees to collect items in segregated form and contact Nodal officer, Solid Waste Management, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal (9419122484) for transportation and compositing in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.

The Mayor also asked JMC to step up its efforts so that the Jammu city comes up in 10 cleanest cities of the country.
