Ramsoo inhabitants facing threat of extinction: Kamaal

Jammu March 05: Additional General Secretary J&K National Conference (NC), Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal, has expressed anguish at the media reports regarding the graveyard of Village Ramsoo, located on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, which has collapsed due to sinking of land.

According to a statement, Kamaal was talking to people from the area at the party headquarter Sher-I- Kashmir Bhawan Dr. Kamaal reminded the Government  that the locals of Ramsoo has expressed fears in 2018 to him on spot that the alignment of this NHIA was being changed at Ramsoo to dislocate the inhabitants of Ramsoo  from their home and hearth.

He said that there were reports that a team of the NHAI would visit the site of the village where road was sinking due to deep and wide cracks.

“Nothing is known as to whether the visit took place or not and if it did what are their findings. The State Government is requested to take corrective measures so that NHIA becomes a safe and dependable Highway instead of a Nightmare for all those who use this Highway as well as habitations  like Ramsoo who face threat  of extinction due to callous and lackadaisical approach of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI),” the statement quoted Kamaal as saying.
