Airlift essential supplies to Tangdar and Karnah: Raja Aijaz

Srinagar, March 5: Senior Peoples Conference (PC) leader and parliamentary candidate from Baramulla Raja Aijaz Ali has expressed concern over the immense difficulties faced in Tangdar and Karnah due to blockade of roads and appealed the Governor administration to make arrangements for airlifting essential supplies so as to mitigate the hardships faced by the people.

In a statement issue here, Raja Aijaz said that continuous road blockade has cut off Tangdar & Karnah from the rest of the state. “The residents of these far flung areas are facing tremendous difficulties due to acute shortage of medicines, baby foods, essential supplies and food commodities. The trucks carrying essential supplies are stuck which has resulted in wastage and losses.”

While appealing to the Governor for making alternate arrangements to ensure supply of essential commodities Raja Aijaz said: “The administration should consider airlifting essential supplies and stranded passengers to Tangdar and Karnah. All district and concerned offices should be directed to arrange relief without any delay.”

Raja Aijaz also requested the Governor to airlift body of slain Sg Ct Naseer Ahmad Kholi, who died in a gunfight in Langate, to his native village in Karnah. “The family of Naseer Ahmad is still awaiting his dead body. All efforts should be made to airlift his body at the earliest,” he added.
