DC Srinagar discusses implementation of PMSYM scheme
SRINAGAR, MARCH 02: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Saturday convened a meeting to discuss the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan (PMSYM) scheme.
The DC instructed all the departments to launch awareness about the scheme in order that those eligible can enroll under it and be benefitted. He also instructed the concerned offices to submit lists of all eligible unorganised workers working with or for them.
He said awareness programmes about the pension scheme will also be launched across the district for the benefit of those eligible among the common masses.
PMSYM is a central government scheme for the labour class associated with the unorganised sector whose monthly incomes do not exceed 15000 rupees. It offers beneficiaries who will contribute fixed monthly premiums between 55 rupees and 200 rupees a lifetime regular monthly pension of 3000 rupees after attaining 60 years of age.
