JRL, TeH protest banning of Jama’at-e-Islami
Srinagar, March 01: On JRL call, scores of All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders and activists after the Friday prayers held a protest demonstration against the banning of Jama’at-e-Islami and recent NIA raids on pro-freedom leaders, their relatives and others, a spokesman of the Hurriyat said in a statement issued today.
Hurriyat leaders said that repressive measures against the people of state of Jammu and Kashmir in general and pro-freedom religo-political organizations in particular can never suppress the just struggle of Kashmiries, said the spokesman.
They said that banning a registered organization like Jama’at-e-Islami is nothing but act of revenge.
Condemning the recent raids by NIA, leaders said that harassing common people, pro-freedom leadership and their relatives, is a tool often used by rulers to create a chaotic and suffocating atmosphere to crush the freedom voice.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH)Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a separate statement said that banning of Jama’at-e-Islami JK is highly condemnable and shocking as the said organisation is the most vibrant and known for its socio religious and humanitarian work across the JK.
