JAMMU, FEBRUARY 29: Junaid Azim Mattu, Mayor, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Mattu briefed Governor about the initiatives of the SMC for ensuring efficient delivery of public services under its purview and steps taken by the SMC for maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation of the area within its jurisdiction. He requested Governor for providing security and accommodation to the Corporators of the SMC.
Governor assured Mattu due consideration of his demand. He advised Mattu to ensure prompt provision of public services entrusted to the SMC and deal strictly with any violations of the approved Master Plan. He urged him to ensure cleanliness and beautification of Srinagar city, appropriate for a world class tourist destination.
