Army pays tributes to slain Subedar

Srinagar: Army today paid tributes to Late Naib Subedar Sombir Singh who was killed in an encounter with militants on 24th February 2019 at Village Turigam  of Kulgam District, wherein three militants too were killed.

“In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the martyr,” a defense spokesman said in a statement issued here.

Late Naib Subedar Sombir Singh, sustained bullet injuries during a fierce operation at Village Turigam  of Kulgam District. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Late Naib Subedar Sombir Singh, was 37 years old and had joined the Army in 2001. He belonged to Village Mithi of Siwani Tehsil in District Bhiwani, Haryana and is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
