Army organizes medical camp at Laachipora

Srinagar: As an initiative towards improvement of health, hygiene and well being of the locals, Lachhipura Army Camp as part of a joint initiative with the medical staff under CMO Baramulla, organised a large medical camp for the locals at the Government High School, Lacchipura, a defense spokesman said in a statement issued today.

The camp was a major success as approximately more than 250 locals were benefited by the medical camp in this remote region. The medical team of doctors comprised of four specialists, that included a gynaecologist, obstetrician, dental surgeon, surgical & medical specialists. In addition there were two Army doctors, said the spokesman.

The aim of the medical camp was prevention, diagnosis and treatment of common ailments in the far flung villages, residents of which have difficulty in accessing health care centres. Twenty eight fresh cases of anaemia were diagnosed and treated; one minor surgery was performed and anti-helminthic treatment was provided to all the locals who visited the medical camp.
