In view of the inclement weather prevailing in the Valley, the Army Camp at Dawar continued to provide food and relief work in the village. The Army relief teams helped the locals to remove snow which had buried the houses and helped salvage essential items, said the spokesman.

Distribution points were established where locals were provided much needed clean drinking water and food. The Army Avalanche Rescue Team along with the TIRANGA mountain rescue team being the first respondents in the early hours of the morning on 21 Feb 2019 had prevented any loss of human life and livestock.

The spokesman said that timely actions by the Army, Civil Administration and locals averted this huge catastrophe. The continued relief and aid efforts by the Dawar Army Camp are ensuring that the village is able to overcome the calamity in the shortest possible time and life in the area can return to normal.
