MHA asks SSB to organize study tour for Kashmiri youth

Srinagar, Feb 18:  Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, on Monday said that it has assigned a task to Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) for organizing Bharat Darshan/ Study tour programme for Kashmiri youths from the valley under the banner “WATAN KO JANO”.

In light of this, Sector Hqrs (Spl.Ops) SSB, Srinagar (J&K) is conducting two study tours for the youth of Kashmir from 17.02.2019 to 27.02.2019 under Civic Action Programmes.

“The flag off ceremony was held at SHQ (Spl.Ops) SSB Headquarter at Rawalpora on 17.02.201 9 at 1200 Hrs. 40 youths belonging from different district of Kashmir are under taking the study tour. A Team of 20 youths under the leadership of Komal Chandra Joshi, DC (Commn.) will visit historical places at Delhi and Gujarat while another team with same number youths will visit Delhi and Kolkata under the leadership of Raj Kumar, Assistant Commandant,” reads an official communiqué of MHA.

“Both the teams commence their journey from Srinagar to Jammu by Air route and rest of journey by train and vice versa. The youths have been facilitated with track suits, sport shoes, socks, caps and tracking bags. Transportation and hotel accommodations have been catered for at all locations of visit in advance. G. S. Udawat, Second-in-Commandant interacted with the youths and briefed the team about the motto of study tour. He asked the youths to get most of it and make this trip memorable and successful,” it said.

“Parents of the youths, Officers and Jawans of SHQ (Spl. Ops) SSB Srinagar (J&K) were also present on the occasion and encouraged the Study tour teams. Later, G.S.Udawat, Second-in-Commandant SHQ (Spl.Ops) SSB Srinagar (J&K) flagged off the teams,” it added.
