JAMMU, FEBRUARY 15: Secretary, PHE I&FC, Farooq Ahmad Shah today reviewed the proposals regarding redefining of jurisdiction of various Divisions and Sub Divisions of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control departments in a meeting held here today.

Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir, Abdul Wahid, Chief Engineer PHE Jammu Ashok Gandotra and other officers of PHE, I&FC departments attended the meeting besides Chief Engineer I&FC Kashmir, Superintending Engineers of Leh and Kargil participated through video conference.

The meeting discussed proposals for creation of new divisions and sub divisions in PHE and I&FC departments in the state including Leh and Kargil. It was decided that creation of proposals would be submitted to the concerned higher authorities for their accord of necessary approval.

Detailed discussion was also held on relocation, redrawing of jurisdiction of various divisions and sub divisions and villages to be shifted from one water supply scheme to other scheme.

Addressing the meeting, the Secretary said that the proposals with regard to creation of new divisions and sub divisions will benefit more and more people and habitations. He directed the officers to ensure safe and adequate drinking water besides providing better irrigation facilities to the people.
