Union Special Secy Land Resources reviews progress of DILRMP

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 14: Special Secretary Department of Land Resources Union Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Veena Ish, today reviewed the progress in the implementation of Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme in the North region of the country.

The Special Secretary presided over a one-day Regional Conference of Northern Zone States here comprising Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana wherein the respective states were asked to speed up the digitalization process.

The programme was organized by the Department of Land Resources Union Ministry of Rural Development.

Jammu and Kashmir State was represented by Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Registrar Jammu and Kashmir High Court, R. K. Wattal and other officers of Revenue and Rural Development Department.

While reviewing the implementation of the digitalization programme in J&K, the Special Secretary lauded the progress in the implementation of the programme in the State.

The Special Secretary directed all the states to speed up the process of the work so that the same is completed within the stipulated time.

She also directed the officers to engage more skilled manpower to ensure that the records digitized are accurate and the work is completed by June 2019.

On the occasion, Financial Commissioner Revenue said that the digitization and updating of land revenue records is an important project which is aimed at preserving the data and help people to access revenue records at their fingertips.

Meanwhile, a review meeting of the Watershed Development component of PMKSY was also held.

The review meeting was attended by Mitter Sain DDG, WM, Vipin Kumar Bansal DIG Forests, H.S Mina Joint Secretary DoLR, CEO State Level Nodal Agency for IWMP, Mohammad Rafi and other officers.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.

During the meeting a comprehensive review of various watershed management projects, their present status and completion was discussed.
