Div Com reviews status of development projects, exhorts expeditious completion

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 11: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Kumar today convened a meeting to review the status of various development projects being executed by different departments in the division.

Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Pankaj Magotra, Director Tourism OP Bhagat, Director Health Services Dr Samir Mattoo, VC JDA Vikas Sharma, MD JKSCCC Shamim Wani, Chief Engineer PHE Ashok Gandotra, Chief Engineer PMGSY DK Khanna along with other senior officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.

Div Com directed the officers of PMGSY to ensure completion of all the roads being constructed and upgraded in the Jammu region with focus on hilly and remote parts within the stipulated time so that people may not face any problem on this account.

The Div Com, while taking stock of functioning of School Education Department, directed the officers to make available the vacant and non functional school buildings for different purposes such as health centres, ICDS centres, ward offices, skill development centres and alike. He also reviewed the status of toilet construction in schools and was informed that all the toilets will be completed by the end of next month.

Taking stock of progress on Ropeway Project at Mahamaya, it was apprised that the project is at its final stage and will start functioning soon.

Regarding multilevel parking at bus stand, the concerned officers apprised the Div Com that about 85 percent of the works are completed and rest will be completed in two months.

Div Com directed the officers to redouble their efforts and work in a coordinated manner for expeditious completion of these projects.
