Director Horticulture inspects Govt. Grape Farm, Fruit Plant Nursery Muralian

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 10: Director Horticulture Jammu Rakesh Sarangal Sunday inspected Government Grape Farm and Fruit Plant Nursery, Muralian.

He was accompanied by Nursery Registration Officer, Rajinder Lochan, District-Level Subject Matter Specialist (Pomology) Technical Section of Directorate Sandeep Gupta, Manager-cum-Chemist Sunil Manhuri and Horticulture Development Officers S. Perminder Singh and Rakesh Kumar.

Director Horticulture while inspecting the Grape Farm advised the concerned Officer to maintain the Farm purely on scientific lines, so that the best quality Grape Plants are produced and distributed amongst the Farmers/Fruit Growers of the region.

He directed to bring the vacant area available in the Farm under progeny orchard of Grapes so that maximum number of quality Grape plants are multiplied in the Farm. He also inspected and selected the land in Grape Farm for establishing Frontline Demonstration Unit under Centrally Sponsored Scheme MIDH.

While inspecting Government Fruit Plant Nursery, Muralian, he impressed upon the Nursery Men to ensure that all the necessary intercultural operations are adopted well in time, so that only healthy plant material of improved cultivars is produced in the Nursery and the farmers/fruit growers are benefitted.
