Kargil shuts to demand opening of Kargil Skardu road

Kargil: Pacing the Struggle for opening Kargil Skardu Road, and other developmental issues like Zojjila Tunnel Project, Air Service, and other long pending demands, the whole Kargil observed bandh today.

The bandh was observed in response to a call given by Anjuman Jamiyat Ullma Isna Ashriya Kargil Ladakh (AJUIAK) to make the Movement of Open Kargil Skardu Road a successful movement.

In this context all business units, government offices, court and even LAHDC Secretariat remained closed and there was a deserted look in the Kargil town.

After Friday prayers,  interacting with the people President (AJUIAK) Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslameen Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi thanked all the business organizations, Trade Unions, Taxi, Bus and Omni Van Union and all the government officers and officials for making the bandh a success.

Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi thanked all the religious, social and political organization and leaders of J&K who have supported the movement last Friday and urged upon them to support this movement to make the world know about the discrimination made with the people of Ladakh In General and the people of Kargil in particular.

He also thanked all the Imam Jummas of Kargil and Leh for supporting the protest and making it a grand success.
