Baramulla: While a woman was ferried on makeshift cradle in Baramulla, another pregnant lady was rescued by police after they quickly responded to desperate call of family from upper belt village Kangroosa in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Villagers told Kashmir Images on phone that due to heavy snowfall all roads connecting far off villages of Rafiabad with Tehsil and district headquarters remained closed.

“As there was no way out to shift our patient to hospital given the heavy snowfall, we made an SOS call to SHO police station Dangiwacha Rafiabad, Mudassir Geelani. He responded quickly and sent vehicle along with a team of policemen who rescued pregnant lady Shaista wife of Mashooq Beigh and shifted her to hospital immediately in police Rashak vehicle,” said a local resident Sajad Hussain.
