Srinagar, Feb 5:  On ‘Kashmir Day’ being observed in Pakistan today, the United Jihad Council (UJC) chief Syed Salahuddin has expressed gratitude to Pakistan, its people and the leadership of Azad Kashmir and said the time has come for the government of Pakistan to intensify its diplomatic, moral and media campaign to highlight the Kashmir cause.

According to a statement issued to  local news agency GNS, Syed Salahuddin while addressing a high-level meeting of UJC on Tuesday said the passion with which the government of Pakistan and its people are expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir is exemplary and encouraging for Kashmiris.

“The people of Kashmir and its leadership express gratitude to the people of Pakistan and its government for such solidarity,” he said.

Syed Salahuddin, who is also the chairman of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, however added: “This needs to be realised that the way India blatantly violates the international laws and commits ethnic cleansing of Kashmiris, snatching the eyesight of people including the children and women, the government of Pakistan needs to do more to highlight the cause of Kashmiris by adopting a result-oriented policy.” (GNS)
