Police Public Mela to be held on Feb 17 in Jammu

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 04: Arrangements for 31st Police Public Mela, being held at Gulshan Ground Jammu on February 17, 2019, were discussed at a meeting of police officers held at PHQ here today.

Additional Director General of Police Headquarters (PHQ) A .G Mir chaired the meeting.

In a statement issued here, a police spokesman said: “At the outset of the meeting, ADGP sought details from chairmen of different committees, constituted for making different arrangements for smooth conduct of mela. Traffic, parking and security arrangements in and around the venue were also discussed in the meeting.”

“Addl. Director General of Police,during the threadbare discussions asked the participants to conduct the event in a befitting manner. He said that committees constituted for making the arrangements should coordinate with each other and make the arrangements for the mela,” he said.

“Main attractions of the mela will be stalls established by different units of police displaying traditional items for sale, amusement items, cultural activities, rides Lucky draw and Jullas. Lucky draw prizes include 07 Ciaz Cars, 07 Wagon-R cars, 07 Alto Cars, 07 Motor cycles, 07 Full HD Smart LED, 07 Scooty Activa, 07 Apple iPad, 07 laptop, 07 Refrigerator, 07 Washing machines and 7777 cash prizes,” he added.

Among others who were present in the meeting included IsGP S.D Singh Jamwal, Danesh Rana, J.P Singh, Alok Kumar, Surinder Gupta, Ahfadul Mujtaba, Anand Jain, DIG Jammu  Vivek Gupta, Director Telecom, SSP PCR Jammu, AIs GP PHQ,CAO PHQ and other police officers.
