Srinagar, Feb 03: A complete shutdown was observed Sunday in Kashmir against the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s to the state.

The call for shutdown was issued by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik as a mark of protest against what they termed “tyranny and oppression” during five years of Modi’s rule.

All shops and other business establishments remained closed while public transport also remained off the roads though some private vehicles were seen plying.
