Srinagar: Indian Chapter of Pakistan India Forum for Peace and Democracy (PIPFPD) has condoled the demise of its long time member Prof. Zahuruddin, chairperson of J&K regional chapter of the forum.

Prof. Zahuruddin passed away in Jammu on Saturday, February 2 after a brief illness.

“Prof. Zahuruddin’s immense contribution to the cause of communal harmony and peace between India and Pakistan will be remembered by Forum members. We vow to take forward his commitment to peace, democracy and justice. He will be remembered for his unflinching faith and commitment to democratic ideals and humanist values,” said a statement issued by the Forum.

While expressing deepest condolences to the family and friends of  Prof. Zahuruddin, the Firum statement said that in the field of peace activism, he (Zahuruddin) leaves behind a vacuum in the region.
