BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 01: District Election Officer (DC) Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today impressed upon the concerned authorities to ensure minimum basic facilities at the designated polling booths in the district.
The DC was speaking at a meeting of concerned officers convened here to review the arrangements for the smooth conduct of upcoming Elections.
The meeting was attended by ADC Farooq Ahmad Baba, DDEO, Dy.CEO and others concerned.
The meeting, apart from election preparedness also discussed various issues including availability of drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and other requirements for the smooth conduct of polls.
Speaking on the occasion, the DEO stressed upon the Nodal officers and In-charge of the committees to work in synergy for smooth conduct of the election. He asked officers to remain vigilant and acquaint themselves with the knowledge, rules and regulations of Election Commission of India, so that the process of the election could be held smoothly.
He directed them to work as a team for bridging the communication gap and to yield better results. He also directed for identifying the polling booths lacking basic amenities and to report the same positively so that the appropriate arrangement can be made.
