POONCH, JANUARY 29: Advisors to Governor, K Vijay Kumar and K K Sharma and Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam today took stock of the developmental and security scenario in Poonch during their visit to the border district.

In the meeting with District Officers, the DDC Poonch apprised the Advisors and Chief Secretary about the status of several Developmental works in the District and also put forward the major issues related to the development of the District.

The DDC informed about the pending Mini Secretariat Building, Indoor Stadium and New Bus Stand in Poonch. The DDC also apprised the Advisors and CS about languishing projects of different Departments which included the projects of PHE, PWD, Health Sector and others.

The demand for the funds for Mandi-Fagla-Bufliaz road, restoration of PMGSY Road in Arai Malka, increasing pumping capacity of PHE Pumps was put forth before the Advisors and CS. The need for Bullet Proof ambulances and Oxygen manufacturing plant in Poonch was also projected.

The other major issues which were discussed in the meeting included Circular Road for Poonch Town, Completion of JU campus in Dingla, Government Library, Construction of BG-Mendhar Road by BRO, Compound wall for Gujar-Bakarwal Hostel.

The Advisors and CS reviewed the department wise and issued directions to the concerned officers.  While addressing the issues, the CS directed ACD for 100% FTO generation in respect of pending MGNREGA payments.  Chief Secretary directed the DDC to review all the projects for early completion. He also directed the CMO to make arrangements for the comfort of the Doctors to be posted in far flung areas.

Advisor K K Sharma while reviewing the functioning of PDD, took stock of the status of work on 132 KV Transmission Line from Draba to Chandak. He also reviewed the Horticulture scenario in the district and was appraised about the farming of various cash crops such as walnut, Pikanut.

Advisor Vijay Kumar while reviewing the Agriculture Department took stock of the working of the department and inquired about the agriculture crops in Poonch.

Advisors and Chief Secretary also held meetings with the local Legislators, civil and police administration and met several public delegations to have first hand information about the developmental and security issues of the area.

Various public delegations also met the Advisors and CS. The Public delegations included representatives of people from various walks of life including, Civil Society, Municipal council Poonch and Municipal Committee Surankote, political parties, besides delegations from different area of Poonch, Surankote, Mandi and Mendhar.

The Advisors and CS listened to all the demands of various Public delegations patiently and assured them that their demands will be looked into.

District Development Commissioner Rahul Yadav, ADDC Abdul Hamid, SSP Ramesh Kumar Angral, ACR , B A Lone, ACD, SDM Surankote, Tehsildar Mandi , Xens of PWD, PHE, PDD, PMGSY, Irrigation and Flood Control besides other district officers and various public delegation were present during the meeting.
