He said that the Indian Systems of Medicine has an age-old acceptance both at home and abroad with J&K being no exception. He said there is a paradigm shift towards AYUSH world over and more people are attracted towards this system.

Officials informed that the single storey building with four rooms was constructed at a cost of Rs 37.50 lakh out of which Rs 5.50 lakh were provided by the district administration.

The Director later interacted with the public and heard their grievances with regard to the healthcare system in their respective areas. On Public demand, Dr Phontsog on-spot sanctioned a Panch Karma centre for which machinery will be provided soon.

At the inaugural ceremony, the ISM department also organised a medical camp and provided free medicine and diabetic screening test for about 550 patients.

Dr Phontsog, on the occasion, lauded ISM unit of district Bandipora for uplifting the ISM in the district. He said ISM unit Bandipora is working tirelessly to provide better healthcare to the common masses.
