Ladakh Scouts Bag Silver Medal in National Ice Hockey Championship

Srinagar, January, 27: Ladakh Scouts Ice Hockey Team, representing the Army Sports Control Board, secured the Runners-up position during the final contest of the National Ice Hockey Championship held at the newly constructed Ice Hockey stadium at Leh on Sunday.

The championship was organised by the Ladakh Winter Sports Club Leh under the aegis of Ice Hockey Association of India which saw participation of 10 teams representing various States.

Ladakh Scouts Regt has been at the fore-front in winter sports especially Ice Hockey and its players have been representing the Indian Team at the IIHF Cup Asian Championship since 2009.

The regiment has been instrumental in introducing and popularising this sport in Ladakh since mid-seventies and has a large pool of well-trained players. The regiment has been dominating the sport in Ladakh region for a long time and has the potential to excel in this sport at the highest level in future.
