LD incident shocking: Geelani
Srinagar, January 20, 2019: Shocked over the incident at Lal Ded hospital, where a patient was denied admission resulting in her giving birth to a dead baby on road side, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani termed the incident as ‘inhuman’ and ‘gruesome’ and added the incident had cast a dark shadows on the otherwise noble profession of doctors.
In a press release issued here, Geelani said that while doctors, paramedics and other related personnel render praiseworthy services to the ailing, ‘inhuman’ acts like the one that occurred at LD hospital brought a bad name to the entire profession and should therefore be brought to book at the earliest. Stating that such acts demanded serious introspection, Geelani also requested people, youth in particular, to strengthen their faith and take guidance from Quran and Sunnah.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai also expressed his shock over the LD incident terming it shameful and criminal.
