KARGIL, JANUARY 20: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan along with the Executive Councillor for Zanskar Affairs Er Punchoq Tashi today visited Zanskar Sarai at Leh and met the relatives of the deceased who lost their lives in the avalanche incident at Khardung La.

The CEC and EC Zanskar Affairs expressed heartfelt sympathies with the relatives of the deceased and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

The CEC also visited SNM Hospital Leh where the bodies were kept. He personally monitored the airlifting of the bodies from Leh to Zanskar through Air Force helicopters.

Meanwhile, Feroz Khan also thanked the Ministry of Defence and the State Government for airlifting of the bodies of the victims from Leh to Zanskar.

The CEC also expressed his thankfulness to the LAHDC, Leh, District Administration and Police Department, Army and all those involved in the rescue operations.

Meanwhile, a delegation of National Health Mission (NHM) employees met the Executive Councillor for Health Zakir Hussain and discussed their issues with him.

The EC heard the delegation patiently and assured to examine all their genuine issues and concerns which will be addressed in a phased manner. He said that Hill Council Kargil is committed to the welfare of the NHM employees working in the district and will take all necessary steps in this regard.
