CEC inaugurates 20 KW Solar Power Plant at Boys Hostel Jammu

KARGIL, JANUARY 17: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan along with the Executive Councillor for Works and Information Nassir Hussain Munshi and Executive Councilor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchok Tashi    inaugurated 20 KW Solar Power Plant at Boys Hostel Channi Himmat Jammu.

The solar power plant which was committed by the CEC during his last visit to the hostel has been provided under the Solar Roof Top Scheme of Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA).

Former Executive Councillor and Councillor Saliskote Aga Syed Hassan Armaan Mosavi, Warden Boys Hostel Jahangir Ahmed Khan, other concerned officers besides members of the All Ladakh Students Welfare Association Jammu (ALSWAJ) Kargil were also present on the occasion.

With the installation of the solar power plant, 80 rooms of the hostel will now get relatively better power supply with the facility to run one bulb and fan in each room for 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the President ALSWAJ Kargil and other Executive Members requested the CEC for provision of funds for maintenance of the hostel. They also urged the CEC for his intervention with regard to the admission procedure, reservation of 50 seats for students belonging to the BPL category and destitute students, transport facilities besides the resolution of other issues.

The CEC assured ALSWAJ members that all issues and demands including the provision of basic facilities, admission system and other related matters shall be resolved after holding discussions in the meetings of the Executive Council.

The President ALSWAJ Kargil and other members extended their gratitude to LAHDC Kargil for provision of satisfactory lighting facilities in the Boys Hostel which had been one of the long pending demands of the student community of the district studying in Jammu.
