Delegation from Kargil meets Governor

 Jammu, January 16: A delegation from Kargil led by Qamar Ali Akhoon, former Minister, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.

The delegation requested Governor for grant of Divisional status to Ladakh with rotational Headquarters at Leh and Kargil and balanced distribution of various Head offices between both the districts of Ladakh region.

The delegation also requested for sanctioning a Degree College at Sankoo; Degree College for Women and a Medical College at Kargil; creation of separate circle of PWD (R&B) at Kargil; a special Sub-Division of National Highways Authority of India; early start of Helicopter services for Drass, Zanskar, Padum from Kargil; construction of Airstrip at Padum; expediting regularization of Daily wagers and Casual Labourers; early completion of 200 Bed Hospital at Kargil; sanctioning special allowance to State Government employees working in Kargil; expediting completion of Zojila Tunnel and Z Morh; expediting work on Chadar road; construction of a road from Pahalgam to Panikhar; early start of Work  for construction of Kargil Bhawan at New Delhi; Multi level parking at Kargil; sanctioning of staff for sub divisions created at Kargil.

The delegation comprised Haji Ghulam Hassan Khan, former MP; Mubarak Shah and Ghulam Mohammad, Councillors of LAHDC Kargil; Haji Mohammad Haneefa Jan, Kargil District President National Conference.
