JAMMU, JANUARY 15: MLCs, a Former Minister and Ex-MLAs Tuesday called on the Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma here at Civil Secretariat and projected people’s demands and issues for early redressal.

MLC, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa sought celebration of Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji at Government level across   Jammu and Kashmir. He suggested for holding seminars at district levels, distribution of Gurmat literature, holding Gurmat Smagams, organising live exhibition on wheel with lights and sound system on various aspects of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s life.

He further submitted a memorandum of demands seeking establishment of Guru Nanak Dev Chair in Jammu University to promote research work on philosophy and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji, construction of Guru Nanak Bhawan at Railhead and promotion religious pilgrimage to preserve of Sikh Heritage.

The Advisor assured sympathetic consideration of the demands put forth.

MLC, Vibodh Gupta drew the attention of Advisor towards delay in construction of Filtration Plant under LIC at Rajouri. He informed that the tender for the said project was allotted around one year ago but the project still awaits its commencement.

The Advisor inquired from Chief Engineer, PHE about the project and instructed him to take the necessary measures in this regard.

Meanwhile, Former Minister, Sunil Sharma led a delegation of daily wagers working in the Forest department at Kishtwar and apprised the Advisor about the issue of the regularization of their services.

The Advisor said that the matter will be taken up in the Service Grievance Committee constituted by the government to redress the service grievances of Government employees.

Meanwhile, the Former Minister thanked the Governor’s Administration for sanctioning Degree College, Paddar under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhyian (RUSA).

Ex-MLA Rajouri, Choudhary Qamar Hussain sought installation of more hand-pumps and transformers besides completion of PMGSY road in his constituency.

Ex-MLA Ganderbal , Sheikh Jabar apprised the Advisor about  the issues related to new Ganderbal Hydro project and sought repair of damaged transformers in the constituency.

The Advisor passed the necessary directions on the issues projected by the Ex-MLAs.

Later, a delegation of Retired Engineers also called upon the Advisor and put forth their issue of stagnation of services.
