KARGIL JANUARY 15: The 10 day Ladakh Ice Hockey and Skating Development Camp 2019 concluded today here at Ice Hockey Rink Bemathang.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Councillor Tai Suru Aga Syed Abbass, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, General Secretary Kargil Ice and Snow Sports Club Aman Ali, other concerned officers besides the representatives of the organizing bodies were also present.

The camp was jointly organized by Kargil Ice and Snow Sports Club and Himalayan Sports and Cultural Development Organization Drass wherein 45 boys and girl players of under 20 age group were imparted training and instruction about ice skating, ice hockey, shooting, passing, team play, puck control and other aspects of the game.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner assured every possible support from the District Administration for holding such types of camps in the district in future.

The DC expressed optimism that the camp will go a long way in providing the young players and ice hockey enthusiasts’ knowledge and technical know-how of the game which would help them improve their game and pursue it in a professional manner.

The DC also advised the players to put stress on regular practice in Ice Hockey so that they can excel in the game and bring laurels to the district and the State.

The DC also interacted with the trainees and wished them good luck and success for their bright future.
