JAMMU, JANUARY 12: A delegation of Sarpanchs from Ramban district, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Expressing gratitude for conducting fair and incident free Panchayat elections in the State, the delegation appealed Governor for strengthening the Panchayati Raj institutions in the State. The delegation also projected demands which include up-gradation of local schools, macadamization of roads, conduct of special recruitment drive in district, opening of website for registration of left-out beneficiaries for Awaas Plus, release of funds to clear liabilities under MGNREGA and for completion & renovation of Panchayat Ghars.
Governor observed that their demands would be looked into and due consideration would be given.
