GANDERBAL, JANUARY 10:  Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazeer Ahmed today inaugurated Feed Mill, Animal Nutrition, Diagnostic and Clinical laboratories here at Mountain Livestock Research Institute (MLRI), Manasbal.

Directors, Deans, Scientists, Heads of various Divisions of the University were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Nazeer Ahmad said that the newly inaugurated feed Plant will prove highly beneficial for the MLRI farm in particular and other farmers in general in terms of increasing production and productivity of milk as the feed produced has high nutritive value and would unravel the doors for high tech research, as the major constraint in profitable dairying is the cost of feeding.

Prof Nazeer Ahmad exhorted upon the scientists to take steps for early dissemination of all proven technologies among the farmers and entrepreneurs. He said that it will make dairying a successful enterprise and more youth from Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region will adopt it as a source of livelihood.

He also assured all assistance for making MLRI, Manasbal a high tech research institute to cater to the needs of the society in general and farmers and budding entrepreneurs in particular.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Chief Scientist and Head MLRI Manasbal Prof J D Parrah elucidated the importance of the newly inaugurated feed mill and laboratories.
