 CEC Ice Hockey C’ship-2019 to be held third week of January

KARGIL, JANUARY 09: Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchoq Tashi reviewed the preparations made for the CEC Ice Hockey Championship-2019 which is scheduled to be held in the third week of January here at an officers’ meeting held here today.

Councillor Thasgam Abdul Rahim, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sonam Chosjor, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, Chief Medical Officer Dr Ibrahim Khan, Assistant Director Tourism Aga Syed Toha, Deputy Superintendent of Police DAR Rigzin Sandup, besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the EC was informed that Ice Hockey Rink Bemathang has been kept in full readiness to hold the matches where 10 teams from different parts of the district are expected to participate in the four days sporting event.

Threadbare discussion was held on matters pertaining to the boarding, lodging and transport facilities to the participating players, medicare and other related facilities.

The EC instructed the officers concerned to put in place all required arrangements well in time so that the sporting event could be conducted in a smooth and hassle free manner.

Er Tashi while underlining the commitment of Hill Council to make Kargil an emerging winter sports destination urged upon officers to make strenuous efforts to make this event a precursor towards the accomplishment of this goal.
