BARAMULLA, JANUARY 09: Baramulla Forest Division, in collaboration with Shalimar Gas Agency, today provided free LPG connections to the eligible families, belonging to forest fringe villages of Khahmoh Forest Block.
The connections were distributed through their women representatives under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in presence of DFO JV Division, Parvaiz Ahmad Wani along with other forest officials.
On the occasion, the DFO said that substituting forest-based firewood by clean fuel in kitchens not only prevents indoor air pollution but also reduces the dependence of people on forests for fuelwood, thus improving people’s health as well as forest conservation.
